Cryophobia

A poem by me

Shivers of terror

Run through Earth’s spine

Curled in as a newborn

As moon light hits upon her delicate back

A storm is coming

Hidden in the darkness

Fears rain from it

In an icy sheet

Trapping everything hated,

Every bad thought,

Every bad feeling,

Compounding, mounding,

Founding further paranoia

The wind howls louder and louder

The river begins to freeze in place

Stuck, trapped beneath itself,

Blaming itself every step of the way

Soon nothing remains but the mounds of ice and snow

A deep freeze,

Encapsulating everything the world was

In one perfect sculpture of torture

Forever.
