What do you do when your heart is heavy When a crushing sadness descends Seeking to squeeze and constrict Like a malignant viper's grip

What do you say where there are no words To explain the existence of a blue day A sad countenance, a pensive disposition A long face and a heart that holds no cheer

Where do you go when each turn Brings a reminder of things unchanged Undesirable situations, and broken dreams Left and right, up and down No news to cheer or uplift

There will be days when the weight of sadness Is like a crushing burden A heaviness that knows no let or leasing Pressing, squeezing, holding, choking

To push on through do remember That this is but a temporary feeling A brighter day will come dawning Bringing new prospects and hopeful possibilities
