After the plunge, there was choice.

-

Here beside Hades I sat,

my hair dressed in twirls and woven braids,

each wounded strand a record of the path I took

to reach this throne.

No rizz ‘round my head,

yet I felt the weight of it, the thing I had carved

settle like jewels sifted from dust.

I knew then what the seeds ranked in me,

I am crowned by my decisions,

and in this realm I am Persephone.

Whether I am ready or not,

thick skin demands that I stand as queen.
