Crossfire

Fading into Fall

caught in the crossfire

of then and now

spinning circles

around cycles

of a past unrenowned

chisled and chased

chastised and cherried

looking for home

in temptations varied

i plow forward

with the hopes of fall...

falling leaves

fallen dreams

falling

hopelessly

in awe

i pace on

as embers glow

growing fonder

with a love bellowed

for seasons change

and i remain

soldier to life

the golden strife

where memories

deliver delight

until we arrive

womb stricken again

in sweet afterlife

anew and pared

stripped to pure

a cleanly disillusion

spirited from afar

i tread treacherously

like a war mogul

in diamond dunes

searching for enemies

in endless summers

drenched in humid hopes

of digging my way home

torn loose

i protrude

through thorns

and times

i fade fondly

into Fall.

About the Creator

Veronica

I am the moss silken on watered stones, rooted deep in rich soil. Earthen creature, I am the night sky -starry and strayed from the forgotten path of poets - I am, the chatter from the iron rails rattling as the train carries itself home.

Oh this was so rich and lovely. I absolutely fell in love with these lines: "i pace on as embers glow growing fonder with a love bellowed for seasons change and i remain soldier to life"
