The sun, a tyrant, burns the noon,

Casting shadows long and cruel.

Mine stretches out, a lonely plume,

A silent echo, playing fool.

Yours, a sudden, fleeting trace,

Across my path, a fleeting grace.

A moment's dance, a fleeting spark,

Then separates, leaving its mark.

My shadow slouches, heavy, long,

A constant weight, a mournful song.

Yours, a whisper, swift and bright,

A fleeting glimpse of pure delight.

We walk the path, a world apart,

Though footsteps fall so close, one heart.

My shadow stretches, dark and vast,

A reflection of a lonely past.

Yours dances free, unburdened, light,

A glimpse of joy, a future bright.

We cross again, a fleeting touch,

A spark that ignites, though not too much.

My shadow yearns, a silent plea,

To join your dance, to finally be

Free of this weight, this heavy chain,

To share the sun, to laugh in rain.

But yours pulls back, a swift retreat,

Leaving my heart in bittersweet defeat.

The sun descends, the shadows grow,

Mine deepens, yours begins to go.

We part again, the path goes on,

Will our shadows ever dance as one?

Or will they forever, side by side,

Walk separate paths, where dreams subside?

The moon awakes, a gentle guide,

My shadow shivers, nowhere to hide.

But in the stillness of the night,

A sliver of hope, a newfound light.

For shadows dance when darkness falls,

And maybe then, our lonely calls

Will find a rhythm, hand in hand,

Two shadows joined on moonlit sand.

The promise lingers, soft and faint,

That shadows, too, can learn to paint

A brighter picture, hearts entwined,

Leaving loneliness forever behind.
