CRICKET

Oh the game of cricket, so rich in history

With bat and ball, a test of skill and strategy

Eleven players on each side, ready to fight

In the middle, a 22 yard pitch, shining bright

The bowler runs in, and delivers with might

The batter watches, waiting for the right

To play a shot, with grace and skill

To score runs, and give his team a thrill

The fielders move fast, like lions on the prowl

Hoping to catch, or stop the ball, and take control

The crowd roars, with every run and fall

As the battle of will, is fought, through it all

Cricket, a game of grace, and strength of mind

A battle of skill, and endurance, that is hard to find

For it's not just about the runs, or wickets, we take

But about the spirit, in which, the game is played, for heaven's sake.
