Crazy, hazy heatwave blistering me,
Temperatures rising, thermostat lying
while sweat drips from blazing skin,
Oppression, convection
veritable oven of neglect,
harsh spikes and spires of this
inferno of loss, ripping the fabric,
the cool cotton and linen
hanging in sodden rags and fraying threads
where hope once lived and thrived
before a frigid bitch cut the lights,
spread her legs,
brought the fire of demons
that will never thaw
a brittle, ice-cold soul
or barren womb.
