Crazy ex social club

Gossip saves lives, we’re ready to spill

I wonder (read: fear)
how you might one day find this.
Will your phone chime,
Bro… this your ex?”
Might you discover it on your own?
That I doubt, at least,
it being safely hidden away in writing.

I’m curious if you'd see yourself
in the senseless brutality.
If it aligns with your account of our end.
Where, in your retelling, I landed
among all those crazy exes.

Seeing it all right here:
your bloated, hoggish rage.
Your pathetic compulsion
to inflict your pain onto others.
Manipulations. Comparisons.
Holes in too many walls.

With truth laid bare, the way you left me:
rug-burned on the closet floor,
why do I bother to wonder
whether you'd feel remorse?

Or would your fists be balled,
already training your revenge;
fingers itching to again
squeeze my throat too tight?

How does it feel to realize
you’re a monster to me?
