Is this how the world perceives you?

Defines you as though you are some foreign creature?

You hear a voice that is not your own and suddenly you are crazy?

Filled with insanity? You are deranged?

Why is this a necessary label? A form of identification?

Are we not all humans? Are we not the same race?

And who are we to compare one mind with another?

To say which of the two is “normal,” “correct”?

Why except one but alienate the other?

Where is the equality in that?

In a world with the slogan “be yourself,” why must someone divergent fear?

Hold back who they are?

Frightened they may be considered a stranger, an alien?

That they would not fit into this hippo-critic society?

That they will be rejected because of their mind?

Rejected by something that they cannot control?

Rejected because of who they are?

And I guess that would make me an alien.

An alien that this world would call crazy.
