Courageous Heart

Don’t take your heart for granted.

The part of the body

that takes the most

damage in a lifetime

is the heart.

You can’t do anything

without making sacrifices

of your love and hurting

yourself.

You put your heart

into everything and

it never works out

in the end.

Your heart ends up

so tattered and shredded

that it’s unrecognizable.

You can’t fix yourself

with bandages and glue.

You wouldn’t even know how

to fix yourself even if you were told.

Your heart goes through more than you

could ever imagine.

You can lie to yourself but at the end of the day

you still feel that pain.

But your heart

is stronger than you think.

It continues to choose love

and self-sacrifice than anything

else.

It gives you love when you need it

and shows you that there is still good

in the world.

I don’t know if that makes your heart stupid

or just plain courageous.
