I didn't see a shade of neutrals today. The barn is red, the rides are neon and full of screams. The oreos, twinkies, jalapeños, frog legs, and ice cream are all fried. There's vegan options but nothing healthy. The traveling racing pigs are resting before the next show. The lemonade is frozen. The cake is funneled. Everything feels hometown and gaudy. It's drag. It's camp. It's a caricature of itself. We come to be ridiculous and indulge in salty and sweet fantasies. There's so much to do and so little time and I need a nap to enjoy it all.
