Could It Be, The End of an Era?

Saying goodbye, or I'll be back?

Waking up to multiple messages

Of "we don't want you anymore"

Not in those words, of course.

For years,

I've been writing

And writing

Happy with my work

Getting great feedback.

But times have changed

Those who I worked for

Started from nothing

But have grown, progressed

And drop me - for good reason (on their part).

I watch as others

Climb the ladders of success

Happy that my shoulders

Gave them the boost.

But today,

I sit alone at the bottom

Capable, talented

But with no confidence

To climb the stairs myself.

Slowly, I get up...

Dust myself off.

And I guess, like Aaliyah said,

I'll try again, too.

I wrote this poem as I've been feeling rather bummed out. I've lost a number of clients lately, either due to them pivoting to a different direction, the preference to just use ChatGPT for free (ergh, AI), or hitting pause on some of their current projects that aren't working for them.

While I'm quite sad about this, and also worried about my finances, I feel like maybe this is a sign for me to:

1) Rest

2) Work on the stuff I've always wanted to

3) Read more

So I'll be taking a break next week, I'll also be working on my Substack, Pinterest and YouTube projects, and I've already picked up two books since I started getting the news (I swear, when it rains, it pours).

If, however, you're looking for someone to help you with your corporate blogs, social media caption or ghostwriting efforts, do feel free to reach out.
