Cotton Candy Skies

~ poem

By Stephanie GardnerPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Skies of cotton candy That loom above your head A sickening sweetness only you Could relate to glorious death

Skies of cotton candy Just floating up above Yet unlike most, these colours Do not give you a sense of love

Skies of cotton candy Are smothering out your air Polluting all the thoughts you have What a splendid little affair

Skies of cotton candy Your only witness while bleeding dry It almost all seems beautiful When you lose your will to try

These skies of cotton candy Are pushing you in the ground They’re coming down upon you And you’re squirming as you drown

These Skies of cotton candy Are all that you have left You thought you could avoid them But you’re entangled in their web

The skies of cotton candy That always danced above your head Are now with you forever Because you took them in, with death.
