Sometimes it’s better to leave things alone,
When dealing wounds and sins needing to be atoned.
But many remain seeking to understand and cope,
With wounds that don’t heal, tomorrows without hope.
Some say to just leave it alone and go our own way,
As if nothing ever happened, like it’s just another day.
But to continue to push the obvious away,
Speaks more of my inabilities and more of people’s sway.
Are we not to call a spade a spade in this game called life,
Where each of us are confronted with trouble and strife?
Or are we to sweep things under the rug,
When it all comes down to push and tug?
Slanderous remarks awash with make believe kisses,
That color the moments and illusions of merry wishes.
Yet in time when things come to an end.
There will be a reckoning revealing what has been.
