Red Circles

By Monica HardyPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Every time I remember it I nail it to a wall and draw a thick red circle around it in permanent marker. I draw arrows pointing to the circle and punctuate them with full stops. Full stop. Full stop. Full stop. An exclamation mark ❗️ or three, stating “look - here it is. Stamp your mind with it and remember”

What was I thinking?

What was that again?.....what.....

Oh it’s night time now and the red circle doesn’t make sense in the dark. I will wait until the sun comes out and then it will all be revealed. Morning will come again if I sit and wait here with this pensive expression and a thousand empty tea cups.

Every time I remember it I nail it to a wall and draw a thick red circle around it in permanent marker.

My walls are full.

I drink more tea and wait for the morning.
