Coronation Street is Dying

A once loved soap now doom and gloom

The Death of the Cobbles

Once, the cobbles danced with life,

Laughter echoed down each strife,

Rita’s quips, and Blanche’s bite,

A northern gem, a sheer delight.

Pints were poured in the Rovers snug,

Gossip sparked with every shrug,

Streetcars hummed, the corner shop,

Drama laced with love — non-stop.

But now, a shadow claims the street,

Where joy and wit no longer meet.

Producers pen with solemn hand,

A bleak and brooding, joyless land.

No chuckles ring from over there,

Just silent grief that taints the air.

Fun has fled, the heart’s grown cold,

A tale once fresh now dark and old.

Dark sad and gloomy in cobbled guise,

Storms and sorrows, endless cries.

Where’s the sparkle, quick and bright?

The warmth that lit the northern night?

So here’s a toast to days now gone,

When Corrie sang its brighter song.

Bring back the heart, the wit, the cheer,

And let the cobbles shine sincere.

Gone is the spark that lit the cobblestones,

All laughter now echoes in hushed tones.

A beacon of mirth in a once-bright hall,

Now silent, as memories heed the call.

The Rovers stand mute in shadowed despair,

Only murder, sadness and emptiness there.

A void where your art shone so true,

Now lost in a gloom the producers drew.

In the echo of corridors once alive with cheer,

Your name endures, tender and dear.

Though the stage has darkened and joy seems fled,

Your spirit lingers in every word unsaid.

We mourn the light that made laughter and love.

Rubbish producers have killed what we once loved.
