Do you remember ours

Do you still shudder at the thought of our conversations;

Contemplating finger;

Painting;

Images flashing in your head;

Interchanging;

sitting at the end of your bed

Patiently anticipating;

Conversation to start the day-- or end the day with;

You like when I use my words;

You like when I use my mouth;

You like when I use my tongue to draw words and open doors to tiny houses;

You climb on like tiny mountains;

And hang off of every word like a lion, mountains;

Sliding down them;

Until I arrive at your trenches;

Do you remember our conversations?

Do you remember our conversation yesterday?

Do you remember that feeling it gave us?

One we would chase in moments

Knowing it could only generate

A guttural sound escaping

As I penetrate your inner thoughts

You can escape.

My words keep you cuffed to my posts

But I see

In your eyes pleading

Knowing that the key sits on the tip;

Of your tongue;

Feeding drips on your lips

Leaving me in complete adoration

So even I know I’m lying pretending to not dream of the perfect situation

To talk face to face again
