Contrasting Bears

Dual Nature

In velvet fur, a playful sprite,

Stuffed friend of day, with buttoned white.

But moonlit woods reveal a might,

Beneath the stars, a hunter's light.

Those playful paws, in dreams they climb,

Up glaciers stark, where shadows climb.

No honeyed sweets, but seals they find,

A world of ice, on savage mind.

Yet sunrise brings a gentle hum,

The playful soul, the day has come.

And in each glance, a truth untold,

Of wild and tame, within one mold.
