Contradictive

White lies and black marks

IQ is just a number
One employers never
Require
No one even cares to
Hear it
Why is it tested or
Falsely admired?

Jumping for joy
Is not allowed
In polite society
No matter how high aloft
This false virtue is
Held in films and
Commercials for beer or
Ladies-only shaving goo

Silence isn’t just
The absence of sound
The ironing out of waves
It’s the stuffing down
The burial of every word
Every truth ever known
Under the next heavy
Fear-laden stone

Every pebble, every grain of
Veracity will be scooped out with
Finger and nail
I will emerge, fate revealed

Who’s keeping score
In this game of pain?
Everyone wants to be
The MVP
NO room for two at the top

Trauma doesn’t tightly bind
It leaves a blinking target
On your back
Red concentric rings
Letting potential newcomers
Loose their arrows
See how they measure up

Unfortunately, they miss their
Mark every time
Landing lazily in the white zone
Wandering off drunk
Looking for someone
To impress with
Mediocre tales of woe

I have noticed that some people are genuinely supportive, no matter what has or will happen to you, but those people who pry unbidden, are not your ride or dies. For some people they need to one up on everything, even trauma. Finding people who have faced similar struggles should mean finding acceptance, and support. We can't let ourselves contribute to the pain and loss. We need to let love overcome these barriers, and remember pain is not the race we want to win. Sending all the love and patience that I have recieved to all of you who need it.
