Contemplation

Inner workings

By Magnolia DemplePublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

She thinks

She wonders

Repeatedly over

Within her head

Is she real

Or is she dead?

Hard to tell

When life feels bleak

Nothing there

To help her feel

Just darkness in her head

Her mind

Is it her own?

Often pondered

The aftermath already sewn

No true escape

This dungeon behold

No bars to grasp

Yet still caged

The emotions inside

Engulfed and enraged

Beating and burning

Her skull scathed

Slip into nothing

The empty awaits

Pretend silence

Numbness abates

Despair and forlorn

Sadness her face shorn

Madness the cloak worn

Bleeding and beating

Her heart morn

Cold with shiver

Thine stone with age

Will she ever be free from

This mind that is her cage
