Connection

a sonnet

Connection

Counter culture to the picture message

and mobile texts to friends less intimate

explores connections in unconnected

by phrasing images on this black and white.

So when I focus on her colored shirt,

hanging pink and tied around her young hips,

how it attracts and sparks the thought to flirt

and thinking ‘could be’ touching lips to lips,

imagination runs to connection

where before we were the unconnected

and maybe counter culture of the shown

need not be counter to what is written.

If only she wore no pink matched cell phone

and looking chic meant less than seen alone.
