Conflict

What You Think They Are vs. What They Truly Are

Rolling thunder

Bring your power

Throw your booming

Unmistakable voice

Unto our ears

Make us feel you,

But when you do this,

Rolling thunder,

Remember

You have no power

Your voice scares many

But has no effect

On those who

Truly know you

And have no way

Of making people

Feel for you

You are an afterthought

The flash of lightning

That precedes you

Leaves us all in the dark

We look for your sound

To let us know that our

Fright is over

The issue is

You are not as you seem

You present loud

Intimidating

But your personality

Is corrosive

After hearing you

Time and time again

You wear us down

And you are no longer a

Frightful individual

But a cluster

Of moments

That have begun to

Feel warm
