Confined in my reverie
The best chance you'll ever have
I woke up to the moon,
and it saw me staring back
The clock said half-past noon,
but the sky was all pitch black
I rack my head in search
Because I've been here before
Last time I had this feeling
I woke up on the floor
The last thought that I had
Is standing right in front of me
A chance to meet my enemy
Confined in my reverie
My heartbeat tries to blow
A whole right through my chest
My mind puts on a show
Puts my conscience to the test
I could let this moment go
And I'd never get a taste
I could be a better person
If I let it go to waste
But it's the best chance that I had
No one would know if I should grab
The handle and just let them have
The weight of cold steel in my hand
It wasn't easy as I thought
To watch the life drain from their eyes
In fact, when the body dropped
I was taken by surprise
Guilt washes over me
But comes and goes in waves
I'll tell nobody about my dream
I'll take it to the grave
I think of how grateful I am
To have had this escape
Relief will meet me with the sun
Shortly when I wake
Adrenaline starts to fade
In dreams, I'm always wired
I regret decisions that I made
Because I'm starting to feel tired..
