Concrete Sliding

The sound and feel of static

By Seashell Harpspring Published 2 months ago • 1 min read
Honorable Mention in Static Challenge

A concrete slide at my favorite water park

No longer there with its unique ride

The sound of rushing water and cracking down the concrete

While flying on the pool noodle textured pad

Riding on a boogie board can come close

Or maybe scraping a pool noodle across a sanded beach

None will ever be quite like that specific slide

Most water rides are now all smooth plastic

Can possibly find the same static sound at a waterfall

Running underneath with a raincoat on

Or standing beside one that rushes so hard

That nothing could ever swim underneath

I take my mind back to the crackling scoot

Trying to replicate it with a backyard slip and slide

Trying to find a hotel pool made with concrete

Yet nothing recreates the static feel underneath ever again... Not exactly
