At an Investor Forum in 2025, Elon Musk stated that in 10-20 years, work would be optional for people because most goods and products would be abundantly produced by AI, money will be irrelevant, and technology will make human existence easy and pleasurable. Work will be more like play.
This is a public announcement from 2045:

Report to your nearest Amazon Fulfillment Center
with proof of your documented need.

the frayed sleeve, or worn-out panty,
record the appliance that croaks before failing.
Upload the evidence to your local branch
of the Universal Consumer Inventory
no later than one day
before your assigned Hour of Abundance.

Do not abuse the inventory delivery robots

(no spitting, no kicking, no sudden shutdowns).

Desire is inefficient and unnecessary.

in a society of post-scarcity and abundance.
