Compliments

A poem about society, I think

There is a face in the fire

And I

Don't

Fucking

Care

If it screams loud enough

To wake up the neighbor

Or

The

Big breathing city with its

Polluted, smoke-filled opinions.

Why

Would I

Care

About the thoughts of ruined

Souls standing tall in pretty

Black

Suit

Jackets?

I take the opinions of toads

And fireflies and frogs over

The

Incessant

Whining

Of people whose job it is

To lead miserable lives.

.

I like to listen to crickets

And all the thoughts they've got

On my behaviors and habits

Instead

Of

Suits and the skeletons stuffed

Inside like blow-up sex dolls

Looking for pleasure inside of

My

Fucking

Pain.

No thanks, I think I'll just go

Sit in the grass and listen

To the compliments.
