A Poem

I see a future burning bright

where every voice is clear

Where loss transforms into a light

and coming last is not a fear

💫

We are not runners in a race

with only one who wins

But voices adding to a place

where some of us began

💫

The table that is set can be

abundant for us all

A treasure for the world to see

with artists standing tall

💫

Your joy will not diminish mine

Mine won't make yours less real

If every inner light can shine

the more we all will heal

💫

So let us share the rising day

with writing, soft or strong

We'll help each other find the way

Because here, we all belong

Authors Note: This was just something that has been bouncing around in my head for a little while. The Vocal community is by far my favorite platform. I love seeing everyone share so many different stories, fact AND fiction. They may not all be my flavor, but I read as much as I can and feel pretty supported when I share my own stuff. (Even when it's not someone else's cup of tea.) I sometimes feel defeated when I lose something I put my all into (I know that's a vibe a lot of us can relate to) But also, I love seeing a comment where someone is so proud of their first win! And I put my ego in my back pocket and congratulate them because I know they feel exactly the same! They also put a huge piece of themself out there and tried and I know they're so excited to be recognized! I remember that feeling well since my first win wasn't very long ago. Vocal is a lovely place and I'm so happy I am part of this community!
