Lost love

Tonight

the sea is quiet

full of life

but oh so quiet

and soft rays of dusk

light the water’s edge

Alone

on a timber pier

sits an old man

so alone

just a gentle soul

the old man and the sea

Dreams

he had them once

but they died with her

lost them

no love was stronger

he cries a little harder

Alive

with her laughter

it echoes still now

hurts even after

the moon sets in

like the sun of long ago

Today

the sea is quiet

the winds have died

it’s a peaceful quiet

a new day arises

and the pier is cold

heartbreak
