Author's Note: I attended a Native American Comic Con in Duluth, Minnesota yesterday. It was fun. Not great attendance but it was a first time for a Native American Comic Con in Duluth.

They had art exhibits, panels of artists that talked about what they have done with their art - acting, writing, directing, art of all kinds. There were rooms where Native American games where both old and new were being played and displayed for sale.

There were tables set up for drawing and painting characters. There were people dressed in their favorite cosplay for a cosplay contest. There was beautiful art all over at the American Indian Community Housing program that hosted the event.

My cousin advertised it heavily. He is a Native American artist and was excited to attend. They do well, wherever they go, and I'm sure he did well there as well.

On the right, my cousin Kent Estey, in the middle Carl Gawboy.

A famous Native American artist, Carl Gawboy was there, and he has a comic book ready to publish. He is a writer and a fine artist. He had some of his art that was on a calendar he had sold without the calendar dates.

Carl told me that he believes, "Comic books are the future."
