Colours

When I was younger

By Laila RomeroPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

When I was younger

I used to know a few colours

none of them was mine

My mother had different colours

my father was between black and white

my brother had eyes of blue

and I had tried to compare

myself with others

but still, had no clue

Over the years though

my colour has changed

a couple of times

I've seen other people's colours change

right in front of my eyes

I've also heard that colour

can be a problem sometimes

and that's when it tears people apart

But I have always wondered

if the colour that they see

is the same at all times

I might give them some advice

try again, look twice.
