Colourful times.

A story of my life.

By Jack CosattoPublished 5 years ago 5 min read

in the year I was born I found form.

A soft babe loved by all, yet as time grew by my shape began to form.

That of a child waiting for more.

Towers fell one midday morn, those mighty twins that towered us all.

Those mighty beams and structures so tall.

Crashed and burned around ya all.

Yet mumma never mentioned a word of the storm.

She only mentioned the rainbow after the rain had time to fall.

Always subverting from the situation.

My mother’s wings swathed me of my independency.

Soon striped and chained, a prisoner of me she had made.

Those times that make people afraid, she would hide my face from the pain.

Years flash by again and it’s time for my life to begin.

Began? Or is it again? I feel a endless sense of de ha vu.

Every new experienced coloured by this sense of times past or times to be experienced once yet again by me.

What is happening? I can’t tell the time, my spine hurts. Blood drips from my hands and face. My Water bottle skitters across the tarmac as I get to my feet.

A man comes to help me and looks me in the eye terrified by my face.

Blood dripping the colour of the chase, of red passion and pain of luck.

This fiery redness drips into a cup.

All who drink this cup of wine, will surely have help passing the time.

Alas don’t drink but another sais to do.

Alas don’t think another says to whom.

Alas my thoughts are fading as the tarmac my face embraced.

Head over heals my life’s flashes.

Memories of love and affection, pain and unappreciaton.

I want to die!

No please let me die!

Own all that flood so my mind.

My feet going up over my head as my right hand firmly grips the brake. Soon my bike comes crashing down and I with it.

But just before that embrace of fate. A loving wing covered my face, God spoke to me and said.

Child rest knowing that nobody knew you chose your own death, the love you leave will know your in a better place.

Or you can choose this as your fate, a option I have given almost too late.

Now it is time to decide your fate.

Decide what colours your flag will bear.

That of love and faith or a desire to the dead.

You have only 1 second left.

Choose wisely child, if you live your faith in me you will never regret.

So I said.

God this time is not the time yet.

Peacefully here I could lie down to rest.

Yet still I wish to pass the test with flying colours.

I *crash* moments before my head hit the ground, all knowledge to survive Gillan my mind.

Seconds pass as if they were minutes.

Time unstopped begins again.

Moments later my head hits the sand.

The tarmac imbeds in my skin.

A man behind me who had seen the whole thing.

One memory I know I’ll never forget.

Comes up and says your truly lucky.

I’ve seen that happen many times before.

Usually both the bike and biker are trash left over by the storm.

Yet you survived, your bike too.

Here let me call a ambulance for you.

I stop him. I thank him and say, please just call my dad my family can’t afford that kind of thing.

Are you sure he says to me?

So he calls my dad and what seemed like hours for me was just 20 minutes waiting.

Dad picks me up and drives me home.

Dad I need to go to the hospital.

I think I scream in my head, I’m so confused though.

He helps me to bed and gives me a glass of water with ibuprofen.

Dad I need to speak, but no words escape me.

The damage to my head had set in.

Weeks passed by and still no medical examination.

Memories began to fade, like the colours on a canvas left to long in the sun.

My mind was being whisked away and soon there was next to none.

No help for this young lad who was given a second chance by God almighty lest who else?

A few weeks passed me again on by but an awareness of time I had not.

Memories of my life’s I had not.

Suddenly the world once filled with colour had turned steely grey.

I recognised names but not to the faces that responded when I say their name.

My parents both so old and grey, they have a belly and don’t look the same.

My brother too older then me but now it seems like he’s an adult.

And 3 foster siblings I don’t recall.

My family didn’t believe a word of what I said.

They even began to lie to me about hitting my head.

A twelve year old sleeping in a 21 year olds bed.

Stuck inside a 21 year olds head.

This sick twist of fate left me in a tortourus hell.

I felt like I had awoken in hell.

My body almost paralysed barely I was mamaging to walk, to breath or talk.

My family painted me crazy but time would only tell.

It took a doctor to save me from that horrid hell.

He told me your family is crazy for treatinf you Thisbe unwell.

This instand you hit your head you shoulda have been taken to hospital as well.

This amnesia will likely pass and in time the trauma too.

Soon when the sky darken and stars appear there will be an answer there.

I look up at the moon and a cool glow beckons to me.

I wonder aimlessly before I sleep.

God why did you save a wretch like me.

He answers almost too softly.

It’s because my child nobody has ever shown love to you the way I wish they would.

It’s time for your terrifying journey ahead of you.

Keep your eyes up and stand tall.

Whom do you fear?

None at all.

As waves came crashing down and lightning split the sky, God’s voice slipped its way out of my mind.

Leaving me in a monsoon of my own despair.

Trust in me I hear on the winds in the air as it whistles through my hair.

A cold slap on the face wakes me from my dreams.

Whilst I end this tale I ask a question to my listeners and readers.

If time could fly past you, would you wish it to wait?
