Colour of me

Colours of me

It seems like it was just the other day

Only about 16 thousand attempts away

When the face that I was given

Met all my mom's colours strictly forbidden

I thought my creation would enthrall the mother of mine

Instead she scolded I'm misbehaving ahead of my time

If you're born to turn heads and make people stare

Don't challenge to colour omit, I would not dare!

Colours are the food, the essence of my soul

It allows me to never feel quite so old

So again I sit in front of my mirror

Creating a look with eyes to deliver

Colours I use to blur, cover and enhance

A harmony of hues ready for the dance

surreal poetry
