Colour Me In
The sky waits for my brush,
grey clouds folding into my hands,
I reach for red, blue, yellow,
to drench the world in possibility.
I trace the lines of my future,
with fingers dipped in hope,
painting over scars,
over nights that was long.
I colour streets with laughter,
build gardens in empty rooms,
fill the silence with songs,
and voices that call my name.
Every shadow bends beneath colour,
every doubt melts into light,
I dip the world in my heartbeat,
and make it bright enough to live.
The canvas stretches endlessly,
but I hold the brush steady,
stroke after stroke,
colouring me, colouring life,
colouring everything about me new.
