A vivid person chooses
A life of many shades
No better inspiration
Than forests, hills and glades
The place I feel at home is
A world of vibrant green
Brown earth beneath my feet and
things that crawl unseen
(Or heard.)
Brookes that babble, azure stream
Leaves whisper in the breeze
Aromatic needles, cones
Fall from Christmas trees
Yellow dandelions dance
Beneath a lemon sun
Magenta flowers blooming
Orange foxes freely run
(From what?)
My hands grip gritty sand and
My skin burns candy pink
My feet explore the land and
I wander as I think
This world is but a small one
And I am smaller still
The universe is vast and
I wonder if I'm real
(I am.)
Stars shine until there's nothing left
Parish in explosions
What they leave behind in death
Births new planets, molten
See, nothing lasts forever
I am no exception
I focus on blue skies, and
Revel in deception
(Breathe in.)
The fire of conviction
Think never of the end
Mountains call. I'll listen
What's just around the bend?
Purple cliffs and snow-capped peaks
Conifers and aspens
Eyes facing mauve horizons
Of my life, I am the
Captain.
