Colors of a Starchild

Musings of grand proportions

Multifaceted crystalline starshards

hang from silken threads

from my arms that are long like swan necks

Light bounces off the corners of my mouth

each tooth pearlescent and glowing, singing

rounded and pointed

like my many perspectives.

Each day of mine is a different hue

some like yellow daisy pollen, wings of bees, honey and cheese

some blue like whale songs, endless and echoing, ever searching

balance must be struck like a gong deeply bellows

vibrations shoot through my roots gripping tightly to cores of worlds below my feet.

Teetering the line between eccentricity and modesty

I wave a wand of oaken wisdom like a fairy godmother

creating the Me I want to Be with my own recipe

I build my castle in the clouds out of periwinkle wishes and prayers

dreamscapes stacking layers of sedimentary comet dust

with cerulean seafoam bubble tea for refreshment

washing away that of which no longer serves me.

I am every color

some shades new and cosmic

vivid and tropical like the morning sun boiling rainfall

some shades ancient, buried underneath earthy mounds of loam

all of equal gravitas.

When you let your breath

dig deep excavating caverns within your chest

and baptize you with visions of prismic dimensions,

grand orchestras of word and sound,

light and shadow,

silence and majesty,

it is clear that you, too, can be anything your heart desires

by believing in that of which lies beyond the veil.
