Colors

In a World of Black and White

By Gabby MannuzzaPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

The sunrise hurts my eyes

For the colors are much too vibrant

To these weak eyes

That

For years

Only saw

In black and white

And

Most days they still do

But sometimes it’s easier

The grays are soft

On my tired eyes

But some days

When I open the curtains

To a sky of hot pinks and baby blues

So vivid and bright

They leave me seeing spots

I bear the pain and watch the sky

Because

Painful as it is

It’s nice to remember

How beautiful these colors can be

On those days I can’t that see it
