Colorpiece

Thoughts about the connections between means of expression through art, music, and writing.

Color is the voice we paint

When words cannot convey

The Spirit's deeper pool of thought;

To speak the chords which Heart must say.

Red: the heart of Life and Love;

Of blood and sacrifice...

Yellow: Sunshine, lemons;

Daffodils and dandelions.

Blue: the dream of oceans;

Wooing Azure summer skies...

Dances in the raindrops;

Flecks the world with cobalt eyes.

The circle wheel shows how to start

The work of Art of Life;

To create the final masterpiece

One first must mix the colors right.

Begin with Blue or Yellow...

Either way, results the same...

They become the Green of growing

When one forgets the Red of pain.

But blend the yellow with the red

Now bright and burning, Orange sun...

Dry oak leaves whispering in autumn

When pumpkin harvest days are done.

Meander onto Blue and Red;

Purple meant for royalty;

The depth of passion, and of love;

Dedication, faith, and loyalty.

We must mix the measures carefully;

Life is learning how to show---

And know within our own rainbow

What we should keep, and should let go.
