Colored Soul

My soul is quite colored,

Shaded by the thrill of day.

Life has painted me in dirt,

But they seem as rainbows astray.

-

Beauty turns to castoff,

All laughter to bitter tears.

And life becomes a burden,

With all the junk it bears.

-

Why does 'nothing' rise above,

And darkness seem as life?

How does innocence bear guilt,

And peace turn to fight?

-

My soul is quite colored,

Twisted by the pull.

With beauty on the surface,

but the colors' are dark and dull.
