Color?

What Do You Mean?

Color? What do you mean by color?

Color?

What do you mean by color?

Do you mean growing up with the constant confusion of being called too white by my black family and too black for my white?

Do you mean questioning what I think because one of them MUST be right?

Do you mean serving in churches but only allowed to sing?

Or do you mean being told I wasn’t a drummer even though my beats made your feet sting?

Do you mean having to find a new home, a new family, because “life is hard”?

Or you must mean being kicked out of the church because my “lifestyle” COULDN’T be chosen by God!

When you ask about color, I hope you understand.

Color doesn’t encompass one’s shade of their hands.

Color transcends and is inclusive to all - it brings freedom and contrast whether big or small.

You can’t see a shade and say it’s not a color - even though you don’t like it it’s just as true as another.

Our world is one set of colors not one color that sets...

Each color exists in it’s own right but shares a since of contrast that allows each color to have it’s moments in the spotlight.

Each color may not be as bright as the other, but don’t let that stop you from sharing YOUR colors!
