Cognitive Dissonance
Submission for "The Unnecessary Line" Challenge

I wish it had been better,
When we were together.
Though the blame is not all my own,
The seeds of hatred sown,
Were.
I wish I had been brave enough,
But burying you was far too tough.
And I felt like I just couldn’t do it -
So I didn’t.
Your memory haunts every single Paramore song -
Now they feel a little too long.
The playlist dwindles -
And I remove the ones that remind me.
It felt so damn good to let myself hate you.
If I could apologize,
I might stop trying to rationalize.
But the pain is not all mine,
And I should be done crying,
Now.
But I’m not.
