cappuccino steam rises as i sip

golden crema tastes like butter on my lips

fog flows and mist falls

as the brown leaves scatter across

the sky so grey

my sweater is blue velvet

soft and safe

matching my eyes and the sky

in october's harvest prime

on a wednesday morning fresh and full

of restful intentions

calm coziness spreads

throughout my homestead

my kitten purrs quietly

as the wind blows

the trees sway

birds call out in joy

flying fast and free

i think secretly

i wish i were a bird

i wish i were of the blue

of the wild

and the serene
