Life took a different turn
Than I had planned in those former, finer years
Exposed to adversity, I left behind
The person I once was
Becoming
A different version of myself
Not trampled by the northern winds
But bravely facing them
Clearing the air
Like an overgrown garden
Without pruning roots or leaves
Alice wandering through Wonderland
Lost in nature's abundance
Clearing the air
I read old messages to remind myself
How things used to be
Untouched by uncertainty and fear
When you were kind to me
Enveloped in your endless blue
Sharing stories that mattered to both of us
Tell me, where have those times gone?
Completely shrouded in ignorance and lies
Like everyone else, suffocated by the crushing pain
The unimaginable suffering pouring from the lips
Of someone who was once on my side
And now all that's left for me is…
Clearing the air
Transformation doesn't require much
Small changes can bring about a greater shift
Than the drastic abandonment of old, bad habits
That serve no one involved
