Clean up time
The aftermath of a rally or protest
All has been said and done
But has a heart been changed
Has there been a least one
Whose life will be rearranged
Does any of it really matter
To the cause will they be true
Has a difference been made
That validates me or you
In the aftermath the balloon is burst
It’s different stressing to look around
Trash and debris are the leftovers
That lie upon the ground
Marching dancing down the street
Now silence is all that I hear
Will it all be forgotten
Until the same time next year
Smiling faces and lying tongues
Promises made may not be kept
Was it all in vain and will
most of it under the rugbe swept
Push brooms gloved hands and blowers
Clear the evidence and give pause
Seems it never happened and now
They are preparing for a different cause
