City of Greed

Citizens of all the City

Went to meet up for a big talk :

"We'll now start our most hard mean walk

To change pity into pretty."

"For a long time, we gave too much

Attention to money earning ;

We should now take care by saving

Surroundings and keep kids on touch."

Together, villagers agreed

On developing best habits -

But adjustments are so tough hits

Than efforts molted into greed ;

Green paintings supplanted sowing

Yellow sunshades flourished around

Blue roofs covered each house and pound

So the sky and sun were missing

When inhabitants have voted

For new rules in their living field

They didn't mind their need for yield

Whatever strength they devoted ;

Finally they lost their spirit

Into vain efforts - I fear it.
