Christmas on the Streets

It should be Christmas for all.

It's Christmas time and here I sit waiting for the snow

I'm wearily watching people walking to the show

Bright lights and shopping malls everywhere you look

The minister in his church, reading the good book

Many bodies going to and fro, so many things to see

People walking by as no one notices me

So many people having fun as the evening trails away

My coffee cup stays empty but and I have nothing else to say

The cold creeps in, my bones are cold, morale an all time low

I should take myself to a warmer place but I have nowhere else to go

Just a pound or two is all I need to buy a nice hot drink

And this may be enough, to bring me from the brink

Just one kind person is all I need to give me hope

Will you be the one to save this poor soul?
