An old childish craving comes for these but once or twice a year,

Even into adulthood its chocolaty delights fill my heart with cheer!

From seeing the festive dates labelled from one to twenty four,

Number one's slot is open with yummy treats one can't ignore!

Start unwrapping the tin foil or maybe a treats plastic wrapper too,

The fingers become sticky right before placing chocolate to the mouth, you lick your lips and chew!

That rich, smooth, silky flavour that lingers on your tongue,

Makes your mouth feel warm, promising the festive season has just begun!

Long snowy nights with short chilly days,

Gives adults and kids alike a reason to sit around and laze!

The frosted feeling bites as you see your breath on the wintry outside air,

Coming into homes sweet comforts you see the second door of the advent is just waiting for you there!

The wrapped up, warmed up fun of sitting by a fire,

Gets me in the mood for this winter wonderland of my desire!

Seasonal cheer continues as we eat on in glee,

Days pass from three to twenty four and that is when we see...

A giant horde of chocolate that can be melted in a cup,

For that mug of hot chocolate that's sure to warm you up!

Now to sit around for Christmas watching any old trash TV,

It's a day of rest with the family and I hope that that is where you'll be!
