Christmas

A Christmas a little different this year

Despite the long days we were locked up inside

Around the corner 2021 lies

A part of us all cannot wait as we hope

That the upcoming year will be easier to cope

But now the merriest month has finally come

Gifted 5 days to come together as one

Even though the rules are stupid and don’t make much sense

Making all families feel scared and tense.

That I’m not allowed to drink tea with nan

But in the lounge is the carpet man

Or how I can see my friends in a school but not outside-

Apparently in schools the Virus does hide

Or how at work we can sit with hundreds of house holds

But it’s a fine for you if you go and see your own, though.

But this month is different, a time for change

Although this year will be different, it will be strange.

As maybe only half the family will be sat at the table

Or get the laptop out and the extension cable

As this time of year is the time we all crave

So for the next few weeks let’s all behave

Keep the masks on and hands squeaky clean

So maybe next year we won’t all be talking to one another from behind a computer screen.
