Sustenance of Heroes

By Scott C LillardPublished about a month ago 1 min read

In the era of childhood dreams

where memories brightly gleam

There dwells a snack, a treasure bold

in the stories we still hold.

Hostess's pie, a culinary delight

a symphony of flavor took flight

With its crust of green, a hue so keen

a nod to turtles of silver screen.

Within its shell, a sweet surprise

vanilla pudding in disguise

Each bite a journey, a taste so merry

reminiscent of adventures fiery.

Children indulged, feeling like heroes bold

their Ninja Turtles stories told

For in each slice, they found delight

fuel for battles, day and night.

Though nutritionists might frown

and healthful eating turned upside down

These pies, it seemed, were just the thing

to make heroes out of every fling.

For in the world of make-believe

where heroes fight and villains deceive

It's not the broccoli or kale that fuels the fight

but pies of green, oh what a sight!

Packaged with care, designs so rare

each turtle's face, a playful dare

To unwrap joy, in every bite

a childhood's moment, pure and bright.

Stickers and cards, a collector's dream

within the wrapper's gleam

Tokens of joy, from days gone by

beneath the pizza-filled sky.

Campaigns and petitions, hopes ignite

for a comeback, oh what a sight

For fans unite, in sweet delight

craving a taste of childhood's light.

So let us cherish, let us reminisce

the joy these pies did once enlist,

For in the tapestry of our youth

they'll forever hold a sacred truth.

And should they return, in glory bright

to shelves where dreams take flight

We'll welcome back with open arms

Ninja Turtles pies' charms.

For in the battle against all that's vile

sometimes junk food makes us smile

Fuel for heroes, in every bite

fighting evil with all their might.
