children innocence
a innocence of the children

A heart unworn, a mind untaught,
Eyes that see only what they ought.
Laughter rings, a joyful sound,
In puddles danced, no care is found.
A dandelion, a wish takes flight,
On butterfly wings, so light, so bright.
Muddy knees and a gap-toothed grin,
A world of wonder, let it begin.
Simple truths in stories told,
Heroes strong and brave and bold.
Trusting hands reach out to hold,
A love unspoken, pure as gold.
May innocence, its flame remain,
A flickering light, to ease the pain.
For in that spark, so clear and true,
Lies the best of me, and maybe you.
