Children in a Fire

The Hopeful Take

By Donny FoleyPublished 6 months ago • 1 min read

All we are and all we will ever be are children charging headlong into a fire

Like children we are not ready for what will come but we are ready to try

When was the last time you felt truly prepared to take on a new challenge? A new job? A new romantic pursuit? A new skill?

When was the last time you were 100% prepared for every outcome of that new situation?

I'll give you a hint, you never were and you never will be fully prepared.

But like the bold children we should not let that stop us

Charge into those flames

Let the light dance in your eyes, smile, and endure the heat as best you can

The fire you find yourself surrounded by might be warmth, it might be light to brighten the pathway for the next part of your life

Or, it might burn, leaving marks that won't go away but will become numb, things you can use as lessons

Either way you won't know until you dive in, swimming in smoke

No matter the outcome you will have a new experience to learn from, and how lucky are you that you get to learn?
